Tie-Grabber

  • Tie-Grabbers

The Tie-Grabber is an exclusive Norden Mfg innovation brought to the market in 2010 to give the producer more handling options. The grabber puts regular twine around the outside of the group of bales and ties it off with a knotter. This twine makes a huge difference in the stability of the stack of hay. It allows the producer to haul hay without worrying about his load, and allows him to make individual stacks of hay without losing the stack in the barn. It is excellent for groups of bales that will be moved, or loaded and unloaded several times.

The process starts with the twine already across the back of the grabber. The user  picks up a fresh grab of hay, and an  arm mounted on top of the grabber swings the twine around the outside of the grab. This brings it into a knotter mounted in the back of the grabber and activates the knotter, tying off the twine. The user then deposits the grab onto the wagon or trailer. On the way to the next grab of hay, the user then returns the arm to the other side of the grabber, which brings the string across the back again, and it is ready for more hay.

Tie-Grabber models have the Squeeze Arm along with the Stop Plate as standard equipment.

  • KN618 Tie-Grabber

The KN618 features an 18-bale grouping wrapped in twine to better hold the bundle of hay in place.  The 18-bale arrangement offers a 17% time-saving advantage in comparison to a 15-bale option, with each grab containing 20% more bales and with a 17% reduction in the number of bundles. Bundle arrangement ideal for filling van trailers from the rear and for filling 9’ by 24’ wagons. Requires a loader with at least 2,600lb lift capacity, and one set of remotes with an optional splitter or two sets of remotes without a splitter. This is paired with the AE18 Accumulator.

The 15-bale grouping is paired with the AF15 Hay Accumulator with the bales flat on their strings.  Bundle arrangement ideal for filling van trailers from the rear and for filling 24’ wagons.  Requires a loader with at least 2,500lb lift capacity, and one set of remotes with an optional splitter or two sets of remotes without a splitter. This is paired with the AF15 Accumulator.

The 15-bale grouping pairs with the AE15 hay accumulators and sets the bales in the field on edge.  This model’s 15-bale arrangement offers a 33% time-saving advantage in comparison to a 10-bale option, with each grab containing 50% more bales and with a 33% reduction in the number of bundles. Configuration completely fills a 9’ by 20’ wagon. Requires a loader with at least 2,400lb lift capacity, and one set of remotes with an optional splitter or two sets of remotes without a splitter. This is paired with the AE15 Accumulator.

  • KN612F Tie-Grabber

The 12-bale grouping pairs with the AF12 hay accumulator and the configuration can fill a 20’ wagon. This requires a loader with at least 2,300lb lift capacity, and one set of remotes with an optional splitter or two sets of remotes without a splitter. This is paired with the AF12 Accumulator.

  • 10 Bale Flat
  • KN510F Tie-Grabber

The 10-bale grouping pairs with the AF10 wrapping the bundle with twine to keep the group of hay tight while transporting down the road. This is paired with the AF10 Accumulator. A lower weight requirement for this tie-grabber allows for the use of a smaller loader, and the bundle can be picked up from any of its sides. The square dimensions of this arrangement allow for cross-stacking. Requires a loader with at least 1,900lb lift capacity, and one set of remotes with an optional splitter or two sets of remotes without a splitter.

The 10-bale grouping pairs with the AE10 hay accumulator keeping the square stack tight.  A lower weight requirement for this tie-grabber allows for the use of a smaller loader, and the bundle can be picked up from any of its sides. If bales are 36″ long, you are able to cross-stack them with this model or the 510 Grabber. Requires a loader with at least 1,800lb lift capacity, and one set of remotes with an optional splitter or two sets of remotes without a splitter. This is paired with the AE10 Accumulator.

  • KN408F Tie-Grabber

The 8-bale grouping pairs with the AF4 and AF8 hay accumulators. A lower weight requirement for this Tie-Grabber allows for the use of a smaller loader, and the bundle can be picked up from any of its sides. Square dimensions of this arrangement allow for cross-stacking, and the 2-bale length allows for narrower wagons or for longer bales. Requires a loader with at least 1,700lb lift capacity, and one set of remotes with an optional splitter or two sets of remotes without a splitter. This is paired with the AF8 Accumulator.
